Third time is a charm…

I’m not sure if anything was ever sent out with the first and second shipping notifications because the one he sent out on Thursday arrived on Saturday.  It arrived about half an hour after Henry went down for his nap, so I had plenty of time to play with it.  I had already balled up the singles I did on my wheel and I rescued the remaining Monster Mash from the basement.  So, once I ripped open the package I was ready to start.

I’m not sure what happened, but I wasn’t able to leave the trindle alone for very long and Sunday morning I had finished the remaining 40g of fiber and started to ply the two cops before leaving for my Ravelry GTG (where at least one person wants to now buy a Trindle).

I grabbed some more fiber to take with me to the GTG and the little piece of paper fell out, but looking on line just now I’m pretty sure it is from December 2006 of the Spunky Eclectic fiber club.  Now I just need to figure out what wool it is but I’m liking it so far.  I did start with Spunky Club Nightshade in Coopworth (I think), but it kept falling apart on me so I grabbed something else on the way out the door.

I think switching back to the spindle from the wheel is turning out great.  I’ve been spinning almost every day.  I was thinking about it this weekend and it is very similar to why I switched to knitting from cross stitch.  I just don’t have huge chunks of time to devote to a craft in one sitting.  This works great for knitting and spinning on a spindle.  The question of whether I will ever go back to cross stitch or my wheel is still open.  I’ve been reorganizing my craft closet (when I lost my craft room to Henry, I moved into the old wine cellar in the basement) and instead of getting rid of my cross stitch supplies, I’m storing them away.  I figured it was time to move the focus of the closet to be more knitting and spinning and less stitching (I think I stitched once in 2007 and I’m not sure if I stitched at all in 2008).
