Sick Baby and no power…

So a big storm came and went yesterday and we’ve been without power since. It was out when Scott got home about 4:30 and it was still out when he called a little bit ago. He called because our phone is out too.  I heard on the news that we might not have power until Saturday night!  Scott is currently out trying to find a generator for our basement fridge.

Our little guy isn’t feeling all that great so I took him to the doctor this morning (hooray for walk-in appointments!). He is all congested and his cough has gotten worse (so bad that his breakfast ended up in my lap, twice).  Luckily, he only has a cold and his lungs are clear. The coughing is because of the congestion (post nasal drip) and it should get better in a couple of days.

To bumper or not to bumper… That is the big question. I’ve heard everything from only use bumpers until he can roll over and then remove them to don’t use bumpers until he can roll over to don’t use bumpers when if he can pull himself up because he could use them as a step ladder to climb out. Well, I went with the don’t use them until they can roll over. It makes the most sense to me. Before then if for some reason he got up against the bumper pad, he wouldn’t be able to get himself away.  I wasn’t sure if I was going to even put them in. But Henry has been playing bumper derby lately and ramming his head into the railings. So… I put them in a couple of night ago.
