The good and the bad
June 6, 2008 on 10:22 am | In Uncategorized | Comments Off on The good and the badThe good news is that our power came back on last night just after 11pm. Yay! I’m not sure when the phone started working, but it was fully functional this morning. Double yay!
Scott had left his bedside table lamp on as well as the fans in the bedroom. So, we were just lying there (I had just gotten into bed) when the world came alive. So, if you had been without power for about 32 hours, what would be the first thing you would do? Scott went and turned on the AC (after being home all day in the 90° heat). I went and flushed the toilets and washed my hands. He then went and took a swig of the milk to see if it was still good (he said yes). Meanwhile, I moved Henry’s milk from the cooler into the fridge.
The not-so-good news is that about 8pm last night I got a call from my sister (on my cell which still had some battery power). It seems that our mom has been having some chest pains and flu like symptoms and *finally* decided to call the doctor. The doctor said don’t bother to come in to our office, go straight to the ER. So, she drove herself to the ER… she was in so much pain that she forgot her wallet. And the only reason she called my sister was because she was afraid her car would be towed (after she had been admitted). Her EKG came back a bit abnormal and they are going to run more tests today. The results will either be she will be released today with modifications to some meds (which we didn’t know she was on) or she will be transfered somewhere else for more tests.
So, why is it that the week leading up to the 12th has had people in the hospital for the last four months. Just before Henry was 3 months old, he got pneumonia. 4 months – acrocyanosis, 5 months – Noah’s respiratory disease, 6 months – this. I’m getting mighty sick of hospitals.
Here is a picture of Henry with his Grandma Teddi (my mom) when he was about a day old.
