Great weekend!

Okay, now that my stitcher’s five is up, I’ll focus now on my weekend. Friday evening I worked on my niece’s butteryfly pillow and finished the design for the froggy pond. I used a design from a children’s sticker book. And for dinner… I attempted to make kettle corn in my wok. It wasn’t that bad… but I’m not sure I would call it a success.Saturday morning, I worked some more on my butterfly pillow. I am now more than 2/3 finished the back and have only about 30 rows left. Then I start the front and teach myself intarsia. That evening we went to my grandmother’s house. I gave her the next lesson on the computer and set up her with her own email account. She even sent two emails, one to my sister and one to my aunt. Hopefully she will be able to understand the directions I left so she can continue to send and receive emails. While I was working with my grandma, DH spent the time talking Eastern philosophy with my grandma’s niece Barbara.Sunday morning I decided to fly my kite since it was fairly windy out. I figured my little bi-plane would do well. But believe it or not, the air was too turbulent for the plane. It must have thought it was a stunt kite the way it was whipping around! Then Sue came over and we stitched! Or we attempted to stitch. I was starting Ruth’s band sampler RR and kept making mistakes. I figured out my bands and when I first started I keep getting the pattern wrong. Then I realized I started with the wrong color! I wanted to match a similar band she had done so I was going to use the same floss. But instead I started with the white pearl silk! Oops. Then when I finally got that figured out and went on to the main band, I realized that I had left a space before the first band and I didn’t want to. I decided to leave it and just moved on. Meanwhile Sue was stitching and frogging the Glorianna on the heart design she is stitching as a mother’s day gift. Then we left to get Annette at the airport. I live in a house with a tin roof, so we heard how windy it was. All day long we keep saying… I’m glad that I’m not in an airplane today. And sure enough, Annette reported a very bumpy descent and landing. We then swung by her airport so she could check in and dump the luggage and headed to PF Chang’s for dinner. It was very yummy and I ate more than I should have. And tonight! A TWBB dinner with Annette and 4 other area stitchers. I’m excited. I’ve met Carol and Debby before and it will be great to see them again. And I’ll get to meet Katie and Nicole for the first time!A funny picture for the morning. Last week I took pictures of DH and me to send to his grandparents. I thought it was funny that of the 3 pictures I took, he appears to have hardly moved at all! So, I played with my new Photoshop CS and created an animated gif of them.
