Stitching night!
January 15, 2004 on 1:00 am | In Uncategorized | Comments Off on Stitching night!Every Thursday I go to a friend’s house for a stitching night. Our little group only has three regular people with a couple more that we hope can make it eventually… I brought along Noah’s Ark to work on for tonight. I think I’ve figured out my rotation. I’m going have Noah’s Ark as my focus piece with other projects alternating in every other week. I worked on Night Flight and Rainforest Afghan last week, so next week I’m thinking maybe Scent of Old Roses. I might even have one week dedicated to knitting! One of our “regulars” went to Australia for a week. I requested some wool… I mean isn’t that the land of sheep (after New Zealand of course)… but guess what? No one sells wool in the summer time. My friend even called a knitting guild to ask. Wow! I didn’t realize she would go that far in an attempt to get me some wool! I guess I’ll have to play librarian more often! (She is the librarian of the band, so I filled in for her while she was gone.)Speaking of band. We found out what we are going to play for our next concert (third weekend in Feb). The theme of this concert is Overtures and More Overtures. Here is the list (from my memory since my music is at home): Overture for Winds by Carter, Italian Girl in Algiers Overture by Rossini , Morning Noon and Night , Cedar Overture (by one of our members), Academic Overture, and Egmont Overture by Beethoven. I’ll put in the composers I’m unsure about after I get home and take a look at my music and I’ll correct the list if I made a mistake.
