Well, so much for that…

I finished the toes and started on the pattern of Magic Mirror socks but after 5 rows I tried it on and it is too big.  I’m going to try again this weekend with the next size down.  If that doesn’t work, I’ll put the pattern aside for a different yarn and maybe see if the March blank will work with the Snake River Socks (rav link).

Life is kind of strange right now personally.  The group of stitchers I used to hang out with has grown apart (we haven’t gotten together to stitch in almost a year and haven’t even gotten together for a lunch in over 6 months).  My mom and sister are both very busy with work so I’m not hearing from them.  I’m just feeling very isolated.

I also don’t really have a home on the internet.  For many years I was on the TWBB and Wagon.  But I haven’t actually stitched in over a year and I’m mostly knitting when I find the time.  I found a temporary home on the iVillage Pumping board.  I hung around for a little bit after I hung up the horns, but then didn’t feel like I fit anymore.  I’ve been haning out over on some of the Ravelry boards, but haven’t found a fit yet in any of the groups.  I did go to one local knitting night but I haven’t been able to get back because of schedule conflicts (like this Sunday’s is the same time as our March concert which is the same time as my IL’s early Easter dinner).

  1. Bummer on the sock being too big, Jenni! I hope the next size works out better for you.

Sorry to hear that you’re feeling a bit isolated lately. I know that sometimes I go through that phase, too, and it sucks. I do miss you being around on the Wagon BB but I’m glad you’ve still got your blog. I love seeing pictures of your projects and Henry!

  2. It happens. Friends grow apart, new friends are made. Strong friendships don’t fade away though. Give it time!

And I’m open for lunch some day if you’re up to it. Let me know.

  4. Honey, I haven’t stitched in over 4 years, and I’m still on The Wagon. Come back, we miss you! There’s lots of knitters over there. Trust me, I almost feel left out because I don’t knit over there.
