No holiday for me :-(

Since I don’t work for the government or a school (like almost everyone else around here) I had to go to work today. But so did DH!I had a fun weekend, but since I was away for most of it, I didn’t get a lost done on the ark. I stitched some on Friday but I was getting tired of the over-one so I tended to watch tv more than actually stitch. I finished up the over-one on Saturday on the Koala and did the little eyes. Then we headed over to grandma’s for dinner. We are going to have dinner with grandma the third Saturday of each month (my Christmas gift to her) and this was our first month. We bought our ice cream machine that we got for Christmas and I made Ben’s Chocolate ice cream from Ben and Jerry’s book. She showed me some of her old documents that I want to come back and scan next time we are over. Both of my grandparents’ birth certificates and even a wedding invitation for my great-grandparents. Grandma also told me she has a family diary from her mom’s side that records the births and deaths… that will be great for my genealogy research that I just started!I don’t remember stitching on Sunday… but I started a knit dish cloth since DH liked my first one and requested another one… he tends to request more knitted things than stitched things. In the afternoon we went over to a friend’s house so DH and his friend could tape some wing chun stuff for their teacher in Boston to see if they are doing stuff correct and can move onto the next thing… or something like that. We call these days whack and stitch. The guys do their martial arts stuff (some times wing chun, some times medevial martial arts stuff) while the ladies stitch. We actually started out by not stitching but doing origami. But eventually we shifted to stitching… or she stitched while I worked on DH’s scarf. I’m doing a basketweave scarf using Alpacana Tweed in blue. I don’t work on it very often, but I’m about half finished. Maybe I’ll finish it before this winter is over?
