Get Your Groove On…
January 7, 2009 on 1:26 pm | In Henry | 2 CommentsIn another “Jenni is finally joining the 21st century topic”, I bought myself DDR 3 for our Xbox and it is going to be finally delivered in the next day or so (it arrived at my post office this morning, but I don’t think it got there before the delivery truck was loaded, so tomorrow). I’m still kicking myself for ordering it online since Target had it for the same price. I could have had it over a week ago and it would have only cost me an extra $4 (tax). Oh well. I tried to go back in the next day (to add something for Scott) but it was already too late to change the order.
I’ve been wanting to play this games for *years* and with this year’s Christmas gift, I finally can. I may also get into the whole Guitar Hero/Rock Band thing or maybe not.
This is part of my evil master plan to lose some weight. I’m going to play that at least twice a week along with lifting with Scott twice a week (he is going to keep up the P90X until he has gotten down to his goal and then move over to P90X Advanced). Then in a month or two I’m going to attack the eating part of things. Now that I’ve weaned, I’m no longer burning an extra 500 calories a day lactating and the pants are starting to get a little snug.
But speaking of pants for the first time in years, I was actually able to buy a pair (of single digit) pants at Old Navy and they actually fit really well. I was talking to Debbie last night and she said that she thinks they tend to run small. They also tend to have tiny legs that I could never get my thighs into. So, extra whoo-hoo!
I think this will work out well. I liked when I had a rotation set up for stitching (and at one point, I had a rotation for a different craft every night!). So, I’ll dance M/W, lift Th/Sat. The other days I’ll either play other Xbox games (Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise or Marvel: Ultimate Alliance right now) or knit after Henry goes to bed. And at some point I’ll have to add in some running. I agreed to run a 5k in May with a co-worker.

“Santa” brought DDR2 for the Wii this Christmas and I am loving it!! It’s really fun. Definitely do the lessons (makes things easier). I don’t know how it works with DDR3, but with DDR2 you can specify the length of time you want to work out or how many calories you want to burn. However, it doesn’t let you dance continuously; you have to keep choosing songs until you’ve spent as much time as you’ve specified.

DDR rox!! I have DDR3…and why aren’t you on my friends list?? My gamer tag is Freelancer.
Best way to dance continuously is go into Quest Mode. Just pick a venue, pick your first song, and then never press “B” to go to results. It will keep selecting random songs for you until you stop!
