And we all had a great time!

There was some worry starting about 4pm Friday about my sister’s paperwork. The website only said either passport or license/birth certificate. Friday afternoon she asked if she needed anything else since the name on her birth certificate didn’t match the name on her driver’s license (maiden name vs married name). So, I did some research and we called up Royal Caribbean and everything pointed to needing to provide legal documentation for the name change(s). She was okay for her second (and current) marriage but she didn’t have any paperwork from the first marriage. She was able to get her ex’s copy of the divorce decree but that was just married name vs married name and didn’t have her maiden name anywhere. It took a couple of hours of scrambling to get a good story together (four birth certificate, her and some of her kids, one marriage license, and one divorce decree). When we went to check in, mom went first with her passport (she went back to her maiden name after the divorce). I went next. My passport is still hiding in the basement with the rest of the packed up den, so I went the license/birth certificate method. I did have our marriage license. But I decided to see if it was needed and didn’t pull it out. No problemo. Traci went next, just a license and birth certificate… no problemo. All those hours of scrambling and looking into later flights (so she could go in the morning to get a copy of the marriage license) and it turned out to not even be an issue. Not sure if it isn’t usually an issue or because the lady was distracted or because mom was there (and her name matched exactly with our birth certificates). Whatever, we were on the ship!
