Grandma’s Birthday
November 1, 2007 on 12:07 pm | In Uncategorized | Comments Off on Grandma’s BirthdayFor my grandmother birthday this year we all gathered at her house on Sunday. She said she didn’t want any presents, but a bunch of us got together and bought her a digital picture frame to help her consolidate all the pictures she gets from the family (she has 3 kids, 8 grandkids, and 4 3/4 great grandkids counting my little guy as 3/4). My dad and part of his family even made the trek from Nebraska. I wasn’t sure how that would go since I’ve been averaging about one or two sentences a year with him for the past couple of years (and that is an increase!). I haven’t seen his wife and their oldest in probably 11 years. Growing up my sister and I didn’t like his wife, we always thought of her as the evil step-mother. But she was very nice and even hugged me when we left. And I think I would get along really well with their oldest (who is technically my half-sister and 27 years old).
I did take a couple of pictures. I really like the one of Scott and my niece. She looks all sweet while Scott is pretending that she is torturing him. And a little side note, Scott almost aways makes a face when I’m trying to take pictures of him. I guess I’m lucky that he didn’t do that for our wedding pictures.
And I got a nice picture of my sister (aka Aunt Traci in the comments) and her hubby.
Last night Scott and I carved the pumpkins we picked up on Sunday. I bought the Pumpkin Master’s CD this year and came up with my own face. Scott did one of the patterns that was also on the CD. After we lit it up, I realized that my pumpkin looks a little like Garfield. That was about the extent of our festivities. We live on a country road so we don’t get trick-or-treaters.
