Done, done, done

Since Noah was born six weeks early, that sort of messed up my schedule for the baby blanket. My original goal was the baby shower in the middle of April. When Catherine was admitted into the hospital, I wanted to get it done before Noah arrived… and I almost made it. When he was born on Friday, I had just the last side of triangle edging to finish up. I did that on Friday night. So, I can say I finished the day he was born. Saturday I wove in all the ends and joined the corners. And yesterday I blocked it. I didn’t measure it as I blocked, so it came out a bit square.

After it is dry, I’ll get another picture without the colorful towels underneath.

Besides working on the baby blanket this weekend, I also finished the demolition in the den. We now have no 70s paneling in the den. I did figure out why the previous owners left the desk. It wasn’t because it was too big and bulky or anything. It was to cover up a big hole in the wall! I think it is leftover from when the wall ovens were replaced. But instead of putting drywall back up (and then paneling), they just screwed on a piece of plywood. It should be an easy job. We have some mud work to do on that wall anyway. For some reason they didn’t do any mud work on that wall when the house was made. So, we have to cover the nails and tape the seams. And it is only that wall, the other three all have the nails covered and seams taped.
