Super Secret Project Reveal
March 16, 2007 on 5:34 pm | In Uncategorized | Comments Off on Super Secret Project RevealI just got news that Catherine is in the hospital until Noah (the baby) arrives. So, either she has a computer and will see this which could only cheer her up or she doesn’t which means it is safe to post. Either way, I need to get cranking on this project.
I’m knitting Debbie Bliss’ Alphabet Baby Blanket for Noah in Knitpicks Shine Sport in color butter (which I thought was more cream than err butter). I bought the yarn for this project last Feb and started the blanket about three days before she got the pregnancy results in August. I finished the body of the blanket sometime in Feb (picture below) and at this point have the top border finished and the bottom one mostly done. I still need to pick up and knit the two side borders. Then after a tiny bit of grafting at the edges and it will be done.
My plan was to get it done before the baby shower (which was tentatively scheduled for April 14). But it looks like Noah will be here sometime in the next two weeks. The plan now is to have the baby shower after Noah is here. So I guess it could still be April 14.
Some quick history. Catherine is a 4th grade teacher and after infertility treatments finally became pregnant with Noah. Like her mom, Catherine is having liver and kidney issues that can only be solved with delivery of the baby (her mom’s health insurance paid the hospital twice, once for the solution of the kidney issues and once for delivery of the baby, so the hospital gave her half the insurance money).
