Duck? Picture coming, eventually.

So, yesterday was a big day for me. I did my very first Fair Isle. I’m working on Beading Fair Isle Cardigan from Debbie Bliss’ The Baby Knits book. I subbed Knitpicks’ Shine for the Debbie Bliss yarn so the colors aren’t exactly the same, but I hope it will still look good. I’ve finished six rows of the 21 row Fair Isle pattern. Very exciting. I still haven’t figured out the best way to hold the yarns while purling. See, I can knit continental, but I can’t purl all that well. So, knitting two colors is fine, the problems start when I try to purl with two colors.

This is for a co-worker who is due at the end of April. I’m making the six – nine month size. I figure that will be just about right for next fall.

I forgot to add one year ago today we bought our house!
