And the countdown begins…

In exactly two weeks, DH and I will finally be homeowners. Our closing is set for 9AM on March 1st. I think we’ve done everything that really needs to get done at this point. I’m just waiting for the numbers from the settlement agency for closing costs. DH even called the phone and electric people this morning.

Yesterday the realtor came by the rental and put a lockbox on the house. And on Sunday, friends of the farmers came by to take a look at it. I almost laughed out loud (okay maybe I did) when I saw a family of five walk up to the house. No way they will be able to live in this one bedroom house. The realtor is actually listing it as a two bedroom house. She is saying the dining room can be turned into a bedroom. Umm… I don’t think so.

I’ve been a bit distracted at home, so nothing crafty is happening at the moment. I did have my family over on Saturday and had a refresher knitting class for my mom and sister and started to teach my niece how to knit. My mom and sister just needed reminders on how to cast-on. I was very happy with how quickly my niece picked up casting on. I started to teach her the knit stitch and I can tell that it might be a bit before she really understands that. And at the end of the little class, I started to talk to my sister about purl and gauge and stockinette versus garter stitch. Right now all she does is the knit stitch. I really wanted to have her learn to purl because it really opens up the posibilties. I sent her some links yesterday and she told me today that she is successfully doing stockinette. Yea!
