Thermalgal’s Temperate Mumblings

Ah life…

This post will be just a mish-mash if different ideas… DH went away this morning on his second business trip (ever!). The first one was last month and was for only one night. This time he won’t be back until Thursday night or Friday. But he isn’t that far away… He is just across the river from Philly. But this will be the longest that I’ve be home by myself. Luckily he is going during the “busy” time of my week. Tonight is band, tomorrow is yoga, and Thursday is stitching night. On Saturday, we drove by an accident that had just happened. The first emergency vehicles were just starting to arrive just as we passed. The SUV was flipped over and as we passed I could see the driver hanging from their seatbelt… they were very still and no one was talking to them. It gave me the creeps. I found out yesterday (my boss’ son works at that intersection and was working when it happened) that the driver died in the accident. I was searching and searching all weekend to get details. I really wanted that bad feeling to go away and find out that everyone was okay. So, now I’m just sending as many good thoughts to the family as I can. We think there were kids in the car and they all survived… and my boss thought his son said it was a woman who was the driver… It happened about a block from my work. So, I think about it every time I driving to or from work. Luckily, I come to work in the opposite direction so I don’t have to go through that intersection. Yesterday, I finally go to put some hours in on Night Flight for the first time since March when Annette was visiting. I’m not quite happy with the way the wing for the bird came out. I think I’m going to frog it and actually paint the canvas darker. I had to paint a few sections with white before, so it won’t be a problem. I also worked on the purple/blue section on the top left (which is really bottom right since the pictures is upside down).
