Spring Valley in the depth of Winter

I just noticed that the piece I’m working on right now is called Spring Valley… and this during the week when we got two “wintery mix” storms.I made lots of progress, but since this is the very first progress picture I’ve taken for this project, it is a bit hard for people to tell. I started the week with a bit in the gryphon’s shoulder. I’ve added to that plus started on his chest and the green grass beside him.After stitching a bunch this weekend, I had enough, so I turned my attention to starting my new sweater, Gatsby. I redid the swatch with size 10 needles, but that was worse, so I’m going to stick with the 10.5. I figure it will work out since I can control the number of rows to match the size and the gauge for width was right on. I knitted the ribbing on the bottom and worked up a bit. I’m currently working on the waist shaping.
